5.0 out of 5 stars Batman Superman: The World's Finest Reunite, June 30, 2009
By Reconnecting To My Childhood "Time Won't Let ... - See all my reviews
Warner Premiere and DC Universe are giving us another direct-to-DVD feature this September, the interesting thing about this one is that it will bring back two familiar old talents.

Superman Batman: Public Enemies (though I personally prefer Batman Superman), is going to be a feature based on a popular graphic novel written by Jeph Loeb, famous for his work on Batman: The Long Halloween graphic novel, and penciled by Ed McGuiness. It seems to me an odd choice of source material to turn into an animated feature but that doesn't mean that it isn't deserving of the honor, just that it isn't something one would immediately think of. Anyways, the exciting thing about this particular production is that Superman is going to be voiced by none other than Tim Daly (the original voice actor behind the man of steel from Superman: The Animated Series), and Batman is being voiced by the one and only Kevin Conroy (the original voice actor from Batman: The Animated Series who reprised his role for several Batman: TAS themed features, Batman Beyond, the Justice League animated series and most recently the straight-to-DVD feature Batman: Gotham Knight). It will be great to hear these two great talents working together as iconic legends Batman and Superman for the first time since the animated series three-part crossover, The World's Finest.

This feature is being released in this Two-Disc Special Edition as well as a Single-Disc Edition and a Blu-Ray Special Edition. Special Features included on the Blu-Ray Special Edition and this Two-Disc Special Edition are announced to be:

-A Sneak Peak at DC Universe's Next Movie.
-Blackest Night: Inside The DC Comics Event
-A Test Of Minds: Superman and Batman, explores the modern teaming up of the duo and their attempts to work together despite their often competitive and challenging relationship.
-Bruce Timm Presents 2 Bonus Cartoons.

The following special features are also going to be found exclusively on the Blu-Ray Version:

-20 Minute Wait: Reuniting the Superman/Batman Animated Series Casts hosted by Andrea Romano
-An Additional 4 Bonus Cartoons Handpicked By Bruce Timm

If this feature sticks true to the Jeph Loeb, Ed Mcguiness graphic novel that it is based on then I give it 5 stars, but for now they are just pending.
