George Reeves - The Adventures of Superman Trivia
George Reeves played Sgt. Maylon Stark on " From Here to Eternity" , and on "Gone With the Wind" as a suitor of Scarlett O'Hara. George Reeves was born George Keefer Brewer, but was adopted by his step-father and took the name George Bessolo, by which he was known until taking the stage name George Reeves in 1939.
Phyllis Coates played Lois Lane in the first season. When Coates left the series, she was replaced by Noel Neill who had already played the role in the 1940's Superman movie serials with Kirk Alyn. Clark Kent's adoptive parents were named Jonathan and Martha Kent. However, in the first episode, "Superman on Earth", Kent's parents were named Eben and Sarah Kent. Perry White's favorite line was "Great Caesar's Ghost" which was replaced by "Great Shades of Elvis" in the Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman. On one episode Perry White thought he actually ran into Caesar's Ghost, but it was an attempt by crooks to make him think he lost his mind. The stars of the show Jack Larson, Phyllis Coates, and Noel Neill have appeared on separate Superman TV and movies including the Superman Movie, Superboy the TV series, & Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman. Larson and Neill will be appearing on the new movie Superman Returns.
