Superman vs Shaggyman

Justice League of America February 1972

The Sworn enemy of Green Lantern Hector Hammond uses his superior mind while sitting in his jail cell immobilized, trying to find a way to destroy his sworn foe Green Lantern. He soars the world searching for that soars, until he comes to the Satellite Headquarters 22,300 miles above the earth of the Justice League of America. There are all the members of the Justice League, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, the Flash, Atom, Elongated Man, Hawkman are all present for a meeting, all but Green Lantern. So what does Hector Hammond do to try and find a means to destroy Green Lantern? He searches the computer files of the JLA and finds the file on the Shaggyman, the monster created by a mad scientist to create synthetic life.

Hammond races his superior mind to South America, to the country of Chile, where the monster was imprisoned in 1963 by the JLA and releases the monster and transports him to the JLA satellite to where the monster in several battles with the JLA defeats the members within the Satellite. With the life support systems going out and the satellite slowly drifting out of earth orbit, an unaware Superman doing matainance work on the satellite's outer hull is caught by surprise by the raging Shaggyman and a life and death battle takes place.

With the satellite headquarters burning up in the earth's atmosphere, and Superman struggling to keep from being destroyed by the Shaggyman monster, Green Lantern retrieves the damaged satellite, places it back into earth orbit. Superman and Shaggyman are continuing their battle after they were dumped off onto the earth after Green Lantern retrieved the JLA satellite.

Green Lantern joins Superman shortly to help stop the Shaggyman rampage, and with one final burst of his power ring, Green Lantern imprisons the Shaggyman into a miniature power ring glass energy prison where the monster has been ever since. Green Lantern saved the day: but Superman's tremendous battle with the monster that bought the time to defeat the rampaging monster known as the Shaggyman. As for Hector Hammond, he still remained in his comatose state of imprisonment FOREVER!
